The Chargers offense got a big individual effort from rookie wideout Ladd McConkey (nine receptions, 117 yards) and an even larger performance from their defense that picked off quarterback Kirk Cousins four times in front of a home crowd in Atlanta en route to beating the Falcons 17-14.
Rookie cornerback Tarheeb was the Bolts’ player of the game as the first-year defender recorded two of Cousins’ interceptions, including taking one back for a 61-yard touchdown. The score was the only time the Chargers got into the end zone, however, as the offense struggled to move the ball most of the day if it wasn’t McConkey leading the way.
