As the NFL world turns their eyes to the final day of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chargers just announced the no-brainer decision to pick up the fifth-year option on left tackle Rashawn Slater. The news was reported by ESPN’s Field Yates.
Following his stellar rookie season in 2021, Slater was named a Second-Team All-Pro behind only Trent Williams of the 49ers. In year two, Slater unfortunately played just 2.5 games before going down with a torn biceps against the Jaguars in week three.
The Chargers have exercised the 2025 5th year option on LT/offensive weapon Rashawn Slater, per source.
