The Los Angeles Chargers have selected quarterback Justin Herbert with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
After each team in the top-5 decided to stay put, the Bolts wind up drafting the former Oregon signal-caller following the Dolphins’ selection of Tua Tagovailoa. Herbert is a 6’6, 237-pound passer with a cannon arm and elite intelligence after winning the William V. Campbell Trophy, also known as the “Academic Heisman.” As a senior in 2019, Herbert threw for 3,471 yards with 32 touchdowns to just six interceptions. He capped off a stellar career in Eugene with a Pac-12 Championship and a victory in the 2020 Rose Bowl over Wisconsin.
