The Los Angeles Chargers went into the NFL gene pool with their second pick of the fifth round. The team picked Syracuse tight end Oronde Gadsden II with the 165th overall pick. If you don’t recognize the name, his dad spent a season with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, and then bounced around the World League and the Arena Football League.
Gadsden split time between wide receiver and tight end during his college career. He dealt with injuries his freshman and junior years, but got up over 900 receiving yards in each of his sophomore and senior seasons.
