According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Caplan, the Chargers have placed defensive lineman Sean Lissemore on IR.
Lissemore, who was acquired by the Chargers in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys in 2013, has missed recent practices including the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans. Lissemore, 28, missed five games last season and finished with 16 total tackles.
Fortunately, the Chargers signed former Seahawk Brandon Mebane in the offseason to be their starting nose tackle. Lissemore, who was considered not the best fit to play nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme, was likely going to be a rotational player at defensive end.
