On Thursday morning, the NFL officially announced the cancelation of this year’s Hall of Fame Game that was set to be played on August 6 between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys. The Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony, which was scheduled for two days later on August 8, will also be postponed to a later date.
With this recent news, it’s almost a certainty that this year’s preseason schedule will be reduced from four games to two. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers and Cowboys will now play each other in the 2021 Hall of Fame Game while this year’s enshrinement ceremony is also expected to take place a year from now.
