On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers claimed wide reciever Austin Proehl off waivers, according to an announcement by the team.
The 5’10, 185-pound Proehl was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills back in 2018. He unfortunately didn’t make the final roster and was cut on September 1. Two days later, he was signed by the Titans and then released the following day. On October 23 of that year, Proehl signed with the Rams and signed a reserve-future contract following the season. He was waived during final cuts before the 2019 season.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel was signed by the Seattle Dragons of the XFL in October and later scored the first touchdown of the new league’s inaugural season in February of 2020.
