I’m not sure if anyone truly doubted it, but Justin Herbert is officially active against the Chiefs. Even after re-aggravating his high ankle sprain a week ago in Pittsburgh, the Chargers quarterback told reporters all week that the pain he was experiencing was less than it was the prior week and he wasn’t going to sit on the sideline without a fight.
Unfortunately, Herbert will have to stand in the pocket without his two starting offensive tackles in Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt. Both linemen are among the team’s seven inactive players for Week Four.
The other five players who are out this week are running back Kimani Vidal, linebacker Junior Colson, cornerbacks Deane Leonard and Ja’Sir Taylor, and edge rusher Joey Bosa.
