Chargers, Cardinals considering joint practices

The last time the Chargers held a joint practice, things got chippy. A Cowboys tight end ripped off linebacker Melvin Ingram’s helmet during a crowded scuffle and, per player accounts, swung at the rookie first-round pick’s head. (He missed.) Later, cornerback Quentin Jammer popped a Cowboys wide receiver who afterward called the hit a “cheap shot.”

Such incidents aren’t the purpose of dual practices. Three years have passed San Diego without one.

Perhaps, the streak will end.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told Arizona reporters on Tuesday that the organization and Chargers are in discussions to share a practice field this summer.
