Chargers camp notes through first two days

First things first. The team has signed Erick Wren, an undrafted player out of Oklahoma, to fill the spot left on the roster when Jason Verrett went down with a season-ending injury.

Wren was a walk-on at Oklahoma and played in 29 games for the school, starting in 24. He will begin his career at guard but has plenty of experience at center. Being signed this late in the offseason will make it tough for Wren to find his way on the roster, particularly because Tom Telesco has collected several versatile offensive linemen who can play multiple positions, but a good showing could get him into consideration for a spot on the practice squad.
