Chargers agree to 4-year deal with OT Joe Barksdale

SAN DIEGO -- Focusing on taking care of their own free agents first, the San Diego Chargers began that process by agreeing to terms on a four-year deal with offensive lineman Joe Barksdale, the team announced Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Barksdale was set to become an unrestricted free agent once the free agency period begins on Wednesday.

Barksdale, 28, is the only offensive lineman to start every game for the Chargers in 2015, playing 1,050 snaps on offense, second only to Philip Rivers (1,085).

It was the most snaps played in a single season by a San Diego offensive lineman since at least 2007, which is as far back as ESPN Stats & Information has tracked those stats.
