Coach Mike McCoy received some stability to his tenure with the San Diego Chargers, as the team announced that McCoy had been given a one-year contract extension through the 2017 season.
In announcing the extension during a news conference Friday, general manager Tom Telesco said McCoy is someone the Chargers want to build around.
Although their 2015 campaign -- perhaps their final season in San Diego -- was considered a disappointment, the Chargers kept McCoy while dismissing six assistant coaches.
