For the second year in a row, the Chargers chose not to address the tight end position for the long term. They did, however, add both Will Dissly and Hayden Hurst to the room which provides not one, but two seasoned veterans to help a room that’s lacked top-end and well-rounded talent for some time.
At the same time, it fits the mold of what the Chargers want to do in year one. They’re going to run the football and change the culture. Dissly and Hurst help them do that. But when it comes down to it, this is the modern NFL where the best tight ends catch a lot of passes and produce a lot of yards.
