The Chargers needed some new blood in the tight end room this offseason and they made massive changes at the top by adding both Will Dissly and Hayden Hurst in free agency. While that helps quite a bit, they need to start developing depth players at the position who aren’t just big pass-catchers. Enter Zach Heins, one of the team’s 2024 undrafted free agents out of FCS power South Dakota State.
Heins hails from Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he played a role in helping Washington High School to three-straight state champion ships from 2015-2017. Choosing to stick close to home for his college career, he committed to play for the Jackrabbits after graduating.
