A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Trent Scott made his way onto the Chargers roster after signing as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 draft. Scott was a standout for Grambling State, a well-known HBCU power in Grambling, Louisiana.
Scott spent five years at GSU, taking a redshirt year during his sophomore season after sustaining a severe injury early on in the year. He was a stalwart along the offensive line, only allowing three total sacks during his college career, including allowing zero during his senior campaign. In that season, he was named to the First-Team All-SWAC squad.
