Brent Laing is a homegrown Minnesotan who grew up just south of the Twin Cities in Lakeville, Minnesota. He was a four-year starter for the variety squad who earned First-Team All-South Suburban Conferences honors and All-Metro accolades.
After not receiving any interest from larger Division I schools, Laing chose to stay in Minnesota to play for the U of M at Duluth, a Division III program North of Minneapolis.
After redshirting in 2017, Laing played sparingly as the team's backup right guard. He became starter in 2019 where he earned First-Team All-NSIC honors after starting 10 games.
