SAN DIEGO -- Brandon Flowers wants you to know he’s the same guy.
In his first season with the San Diego Chargers in 2014, Flowers led the team with three interceptions and totaled 11 pass breakups.
San Diego allowed 259 passing yards per game in 2013 (29th in the NFL). That number dipped to 214 the following season (fourth). Flowers, 29, deserves a fair share of the credit for that.
The Chargers rewarded Flowers with a four-year, $36 million contract during the offseason, including $20 million in guaranteed money.
This season has been much different for Flowers.
