Bolts waive Robinson, who could return

The Chargers waived center Trevor Robinson on Friday, a salary-cutting move long expected.

It's possible that Robinson, a 13-game starter in 2015, will rejoined the team on a cheaper contract.

Adding an offensive lineman, the team signed guard-tackle Marcel Jones.

Jones, 6-7 and 337 pounds, spent six weeks on Baltimore’s practice squad in 2015. He joined the NFL as a seventh-round pick by New Orleans (234th overall) in 2012.

He will wear No. 60.

Robinson's release came one day after he passed a physical exam. His 2016 salary was $2.3 million, per a two-year deal signed in 2014.
