Beathard will be presented by Joe Gibbs, the coach he hired and later became a Hall of Famer himself based on what that combination was able to accomplish with the Washington Redskins. And though much of Beathard’s induction will likely center around his time in the nation’s capital, his time with the Bolts can’t be overlooked.
Beathard became the team’s general manager prior to the start of the 1990 season. Slowly, he began to turn the Chargers into a contender.
That started with the first player he ever drafted to the Chargers, linebacker Junior Seau. An argument can easily be made that Seau is the greatest player in franchise history.
