SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers had two new players miss practice Thursday: veteran tight end Antonio Gates and guard D.J. Fluker.
Gates was a limited participant on Wednesday because of a sprained knee that he played with for the last two games heading into the bye week. However, the Chargers added an additional injury designation of a hip issue on Thursday.
Fluker was limited in practice on Wednesday due to an illness. But the Chargers reported on Thursday that Fluker suffered a concussion during practice on Wednesday, and he’s now working through the NFL protocol for concussions in order to get back on the field.
