After the Los Angeles Chargers opened preseason play with a road loss to Arizona Cardinals, Chargers.com’s Ricky Henne reported via Twitter that Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said starting quarterback Philip Rivers would play in the next to preseason games.
Coach Lynn says Philip Rivers will play in the next two preseason games. Both are at StubHub Center.

While nobody wants to risk losing their franchise quarterback to injury during a meaningless exhibition game, it is important for said franchise quarterback to get some live game snaps before the season kicks off.
