This is another terrible reminder that Alzheimer’s disease has no conscience, that it plays no favorites, not merely on the bad, but the very good. And the very strong.
Ed White is one of the very good. And the very strong.
Hanging around the business of sports for 47 years, I’ve met every type imaginable — the greats, the near-greats, the wannabes, the crooks, the frauds, the haughty, the apple shiners, the brainy, the brawny, the remarkably rich, the incredibly poor, the pretenders, and of course the ham and eggers.
