After suspension, Damion Square ready to help change Chargers' culture

SAN DIEGO -- He’s back.

After serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, San Diego Chargers defensive lineman Damion Square has been reinstated by the league.

The Chargers have a roster exemption for Square, meaning they can carry 54 players for the next week until the 27-year-old defensive lineman is placed on the active roster.

The University of Alabama product spent the past four game days at home on the couch watching his team with the music on, agonizing over every play.

Now, Square said he is thankful to have a chance to contribute.
