ESPN has officially announced that the 2020 ESPYs will be making some changes to their annual award show in light of the recent events sweeping across the country. The most obvious change being that the show will no longer be a live event.
In their latest press release, the worldwide leader of sports has decided to “shift customary focus from outstanding athletic achievement in order to further highlight narratives of service, perseverance, and courage from within the world of sports.
“Details of the show continue to evolve with production underway, but the two-hour produced program will underscore sport’s continued role in bringing us together, encouraging resilience, providing joy, and inspiring hope.
