The San Diego Chargers are getting some secondary help. The team is signing former Green Bay Packers CB Casey Hayward.
The news was first reported by Rand Getlin. He also reports it's a three-year, $15.3 million deal.
Hayward played well for the Packers last season and is best in the slot. He'll be a boost to the Chargers, who needed CB help. Jason Verrett played great last season, but Brandon Flowers struggled. Patrick Robinson also played well, but he's a free agent and might not be back.
The Packers lost two CBs last offseason and now have lost Hayward. However, the team should be fine at the spot. The Packers spent their first two picks last season on corners. First rounder Damarious Randall showed promise and second rounder Quinten Rollins looked just as good, if not better.
