The San Diego Chargers' 2014 season may have ended earlier than they wanted it to, but there's no denying that this team has the talent on the roster to spit out the sour taste of last season's Week 17 disappointment. These next three players, with breakout seasons, could very well be the catalyst for a Chargers playoff run in 2015.
WR Dontrelle Inman
Size? Check. Speed? Check. Innate pass-catching instincts? Check.
Inman broke into the team's wide receiving rotation after Keenan Allen's injury last season, and the rookie's performance in the Bolts' final two games of the 2014 campaign was something to behold. The Virginia product posted 12 catches (on 17 targets) for 158 yards in crunch time for the Chargers, and he has all the tools necessary to spread out that small sample size of success over a full season in 2015.
TE Ladarius Green
Sometimes the breakout season comes a bit later than expected. Green was a fantasy football darling before the 2014 season, with many FF experts pegging him as a sure breakout star. However, nagging injuries and Antonio Gates' renaissance performance put a halt to his expected rise. That's not going to be the case for long. Pencil in Green as one of Philip Rivers' go-to deep threats in 2015. His speed and physical gifts won't be denied.
CB Jason Verrett
Verrett is an obvious choice, seeing that a labrum tear (in three places) abruptly brought his 2014 season to a screeching halt in mid-October. Yet, any guy who can suffer such an injury and still come back to make a game-sealing pick (October 12th vs. Oakland) isn't going to be held back for long. He's the complete package, and he'll show that in spades with a fully-rehabbed shoulder.
