With this all being said last Sunday’s start against the White Sox was a make or break situation. Jered Weaver responded like the true champion he is pitching his best game of the season going six innings giving up five hits and only one run with two walks and three strikeouts. The key number here was 0 in the home runs column. It was the first time this season that Weaver has not given up a home run all season when he has pitched.
Weaver started off shaky loading the bases before retiring a batter. However, he bounced back to get Avisail Garcia to ground into a double play which scored Leury Garcia, but he then retired Todd Fraizer on a ground out which helped him escape the first inning without anymore damage.
