Last year MLB averaged about 2.297 home runs per game. Going into yesterday’s games the average for the first 54 games of the 2019 season was an astonishing 2.481. The Mariners, due in a small part to having more games and more AB’s, led all MLB with 15 HR’s. (They also were leading MLB in K’s and BB’s, making them the Week One Three True Outcome Kings of Baseball.)
We had stories about the Dodgers setting home run records, and Christian Yelich setting home run records, and Paul Goldschmidt hitting home run records.
