ANAHEIM -- Mike Trout returned to the Angels' lineup with a heavy heart on Friday for the first time in more than three weeks, batting third and starting in center field in the club's series opener against the Astros at Angel Stadium.
It marked an attempt to return to normalcy for Trout, who had been away from the team since last week mourning the loss of his brother-in-law, Aaron Cox, a former Minor League pitcher for the Angels who died on Aug. 15 at age 24. Prior to that, Trout had been on the disabled list after jamming his right wrist on an awkward slide into third base during a game against the Rays on Aug.
