ANAHEIM -- Mike Trout continued his hot stretch, drawing three walks and scoring two runs in his 1,000th career MLB game and the Angels rode three home runs to an 8-5 series-opening win over the Blue Jays at Angel Stadium.
Trout has now reached base safely in 18 of his last 21 plate appearances. He leads the Majors with 67 walks -- 12 more than Bryce Harper, the next-highest player on the list.
Kole Calhoun launched a go-ahead home run and Luis Valbuena homered twice, as the pair continued to bounce back from early-season slumps.
