Trout, Yelich named top September players

Christian Yelich spent September in pursuit of the National League Triple Crown, putting together numbers that have propelled him into the frontrunner seat for the NL MVP Award. In the American League, Mike Trout was named Angels MVP by his peers and put the stamp on another stellar season.

For their efforts, Trout and Yelich were named the AL and NL Players of the Month, respectively, for September.

Yelich led all NL hitters with a .352/.500/.807 slash line over 26 games, clubbing 10 homers, which tied Trevor Story and Luke Voit for the MLB high.
