OAKLAND -- Mike Trout's first home run of the 2018 season helped the Angels topple the A's, 2-1, on Friday night and even this four-game set at the Coliseum at one game apiece.
Angels lefty Tyler Skaggs did his part with 6 1/3 scoreless innings, engaging in a pitcher's duel with an equally impressive Sean Manaea, whose lone blemish in 7 2/3 innings was Trout's one-out solo homer. Manaea fanned seven and didn't issue a walk, retiring 21 of his final 23 batters and falling one out shy of tying his career high for innings.
