Trout OK despite thumb contusion from HBP

ANAHEIM -- Angels outfielder Mike Trout exited in the eighth inning of Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Indians after being hit on his right hand by a Tommy Hunter pitch. Shane Robinson replaced Trout as a pinch-runner.

Trout, leading off the eighth with the Angels down, 6-1, was hit on a 2-1, 93-mph two-seam fastball located high and inside from Hunter. Trout immediately reacted and began shaking his hand, making it a few steps out of the batter's box before a trainer came out to check on him.

Trout was 1-for-1 with two walks on the day.
