DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have acquired Kody Eaves from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for Jefry Marte in a swap of infielders.
The 22-year-old Eaves spent last season with Class A Inland Empire, playing in 134 games and hitting .248 with 17 doubles, 11 triples, 11 home runs and 71 RBI.
The 24-year-old Marte was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week after spending most of last season with Triple-A Toledo, hitting .275 with 25 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs and 65 RBI. He appeared in 33 games with the Tigers, hitting .
