It was bound to happen. Skaggs was due. Over his career he generally produces a Quality Start roughly 40% of his starts. Going into last night’s game Tyler had 5 starts, 2 Quality. That was 40%. No way he hits 3 QS out of 6 total. That would be waaaaay out over his skis.
It didn’t help that mike trout and Shohei Ohtani went a combined 0 for 7 with 5 strikeouts.
It didn’t help that the Angels were facing a descendant of Bob Feller.
Going 2 for 7 with runners in scoring position didn’t help.
