Angels center fielder Mike Trout won the American League Player of the Month award for July after he hit .367 with 12 homers and 26 RBI.
The homers were a career-high in a month for Trout, who turns 24 on Friday. He became the first American Leaguer to win the July honor and be named the MVP of the All-Star Game.
Angels first baseman Albert Pujols was named the American League Player of the Month for June. This month, Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez won the National League honor.
