ANAHEIM - David Murphy says he loves it here, even though the most consistent thing about being a left fielder for the Angels is his wearing high socks for every game.
For Monday night’s busy Freeway Series opener that the Dodgers won 7-5 at Angel Stadium, Murphy started another game in left field and finished the final two innings in the dugout.
The lefty went 0 for 3 with three groundouts to shortstop. Then righty-batting Shane Victorino entered in Murphy’s cleanup spot in the seventh inning, worked a walk and took over left field in the eighth.
