ANAHEIM – It was a most heartwarming moment to watch, this display of human spirit worth remembering from this past week when Major League Baseball celebrated its players with All-Star Game festivities.
It came the night before the Midsummer Classic on Tuesday at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, before young Angels All-Star Mike Trout led the American League to victory, before he repeated as the game’s Most Valuable Player and even before he laced his leadoff home run.
It happened Monday night just after veteran Angels slugger Albert Pujols ended his Home Run Derby without one.
