ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Angels hitters are enjoying their East Coast swing so far.
After a 7-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night, the Angels raised their average on this trip to .336.
Even if you exclude Saturday’s 21-run outburst they are still hitting .307 in the other five games.
Their struggling starting pitching is why they’ve managed only three victories in the first six games of this trip, but Jered Weaver stopped that trend on Wednesday.
Weaver gave up one run in six innings, breezing through the Rays lineup while allowing just four hits.
