Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, what have we here!
The Angels have a friendly face-off tonight against very, very good pitcher Lucas Giolito, whose meteoric rise has given the South Side some semblance of hurling comfort. After 32 starts of replacement-level performance in ‘18, Giolito has done a complete 180, striking out nearly 12 batters per inning with a 3.82 strikeout-to-walk ratio while ERA’ing and FIP’ping 27% better than league average. Giolito has averaged ten strikeouts over has last six starts, including a 12-K shutout against the Twins on August 21st.
