Saturdays are for the Mike Trout Slams

Trout’s slash line: .385/.553/.923

At the beginning of each season, MLB always sees individual spectacular performances. Fans joke about a player hitting .400, another breaking DiMaggio’s 56-game hit streak, and yet another stating with conviction that this is the year Bonds’ HR record falls.

For the first time, it feels sustainable. It’s not blind hope. It’s the general unstoppability of Mike Trout whenever he steps up to the plate.

Following his multi-homer game Friday, Trout walked and reached on a HBP in his first two plate appearances. The Angels squandered many chances, leaving six runners on base in the first three innings.
