MINNEAPOLIS -- The Angels picked up ground in the standings on Friday without even playing.
After the Angels game against the Minnesota Twins was rained out, the Houston Astros lost. The Angels are now two games behind the Astros for the second wild card, with 16 games to play. The Twins are in between the teams, one game ahead of the Angels.
They will play a split admission doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game starting at 10 a.m. PT and the second at 4 p.m.
The Angels will start Andrew Heaney in the first game, while the Twins will go with Kyle Gibson, who had been scheduled for Saturday's game.
