ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired first baseman/outfielder Marc Krauss from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for minor league pitcher Kyle Winkler.

The AL East leaders also optioned infielder Nick Franklin to Triple-A Durham on Thursday.
