TEMPE, Ariz. -- Reports on Monday night had the Angels close to acquiring another option for left field, with several outlets linking them to 6-foot-4 left-handed hitter Michael Saunders.
Saunders would reportedly come in a three-team trade with the Reds and Blue Jays, with Reds slugger Jay Bruce going to the Blue Jays, Saunders going to the Angels and prospects headed to Cincinnati, as first reported by Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
None of the clubs have commented on any potential trade discussions, and tweet by ESPN's Buster Olney Monday evening said: "Sources: There is doubt among those involved in the Jay Bruce talks that the deal will be completed.
