ANAHEIM - After losing the final home game of the season to the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night and before leaving Angel Stadium to board a plane to Texas, the Angels’ rookies found a surprise delivery hanging in each of their lockers.
It was time for the yearly tradition – and humiliation – of rookie dress-up, this season calling for the rookies to wear adult-sized, full-bodied squirrel costumes complete with four-foot long inflatable tails.
“Look at the tail!” shouted Angels All-Star Mike Trout, pointing at the bobbing tails of rookie third baseman Kaleb Cowart and catcher Carlos Perez.
