HOUSTON -- Shohei Ohtani made his first start in almost three months here tonight against the Astros, making the Angels two-way sensation the only player besides Babe Ruth to start 10 games and hit at least 10 home runs in the same season in Major league history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Also per Elias, when Ohtani completed a scoreless first inning at Minute Maid Park, he joined Ruth as the only players to pitch at least 50 innings and hit 15 homers in one season. At that point, Ohtani had pitched 50 1/3 innings along with 15 homers.
