SEATTLE -- Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani was out of the lineup for a ninth straight game Tuesday, missing an 8-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners.
Angels manager Phil Nevin, before the loss, said he's moving forward with the idea that the lineup will be absent Ohtani's name until he says he's ready to go.
"He's going to come in and tell me one day he's ready to play and he's then he'll play," Nevin said.
Ohtani, who continues to deal with a right oblique strain, was originally in the lineup for Monday's series opener in Seattle, but after going through his pregame workout was scratched.
