ARLINGTON -- Shohei Ohtani was not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Rangers on Tuesday, though manager Mike Scioscia said the two-way phenom will be available to pinch-hit or pinch-run if needed.
Left-hander Martin Perez is slated to take the mound for Texas, marking the second time this season that the left-handed-hitting Ohtani has sat against a lefty. Kole Calhoun, another left-handed bat, did not start against Perez, either.
"We've got Calhoun out of the lineup, too," Scioscia said. "There's a lot of things that you look at.
