ANAHEIM -- Shohei Ohtani is still working his way back to the mound for the Angels, but he continues to find ways to make an impact with his bat.
Ohtani crushed a three-run home run to the opposite field to give the Angels a lead during a seven-run first inning of Tuesday's matchup against the Tigers at Angel Stadium.
The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead by scoring a pair of runs off left-hander Andrew Heaney in the top of the first, but the Angels came back to threaten in the bottom half of the inning after Kole Calhoun and Justin Upton delivered back-to-back singles off right-hander Jacob Turner.
