Shohei Ohtani homered for the third straight game on Friday night, driving a pitch from Oakland starter Daniel Gossett out to straightaway center field in the second inning at Angel Stadium.
Ohtani got ahead in the count, 2-0, and then launched a 94-mph fastball a projected 449 feet, with a 112.3-mph exit velocity, according to Statcast™.
The homer was the Angels' first hit of the game and put them on the board after the A's had jumped out to a 6-0 lead, most of it in a five-run second.
